• HandBrake (any OS) - Video transcoder.

• Audacity (any OS) - Sound recorder and editor.

• WinMerge (Win) - View changes in files. Like Beyond Compare (but then a OSS version).

• SimplyBackup (any OS) - Backup (incremental/full) to disk, NFS, (S)FTP, SSH, WebDAV, etc.
• ImDisk (Win) - Mount image as drive (example: .iso as removable drive).
